This rustically charming Antique French Demijohn is a 25 litre clear glass bottle, probably used for Eau de Vie or other brandy.
It would have been decanted from vats into the bottle to stop the maturation of the liquor.
It is in it's original wooden slatted basket, secured at the bottom with zinc banding. The straw was used as insulation.
